Teaser Trailers

Teaser Trailers
A teaser trailer aims to 'tease' the viewer and urge them to want to see more. It usually would reveal very little about the film and just feature key shots and action, in hope of exciting the audience. A theatrical trailer would follow a teaser trailer and would include more scenes and more detail. A teaser trailer is usually a lot shorter than a theatrical trailer and typically lasts for around 1 minute 30 seconds (1 minute less than the theatrical trailer).

At the time that the teaser trailer is published, the producers would have not yet shot the whole film and therefore, the teaser trailer is made up of small segments of the film which are complete.

Teaser trailers are more typical of big budget films with a greater target audience. They are also commonly used for films which are part of an existing sequel, in order to create a mystery and a 'buzz' for the film of which a large audience already have an existing knowledge. Teaser trailers usually just hint at what is going to happen and do not confirm anything.
