Conventions of Super Natural Thriller Trailer
Setting: suburban or isolated location such as large residential buildings, or dark spaces like forests. Promotes fear of the unkown and unwanted, often little or no escape from these settings.
Narratives: centre around the protagonist trying to work out something - focus on characters going into a haunted place to investigate
Protagonist: often female, and considered to be the 'final girl' who servives to the end, possibly troubled by something from thier past which leads other characters to not take thier supernatural experiences seriuosly until the last minute.
Characters: all form part of the main protagonists alliance, and one by one die as the situation unfolds.
Costume: casual clothing to give strong sense of normality, as horror progresses we see the characters looking erratic and unitdy e.g. messy hair, bloody hands - signifiers that they have been through a traumatic expereince.
Lighiting and Sound: back lighting displays shadows and events in silhouette form, orchestral music is implemented to fit the scene narrative, with empathetic sound to suit the mood of the charatcers in fear. Use of amplified diegetic sounds such as screams for an effect and reaction from the audience.
